Isn't it funny how we sometimes see things when we don't expect too.....today for some reason no matter where I looked I saw over weight people......It might be a good thing as it triggered my mind to say "you use to look like that" I can feel there pain...I can still remember how hard it was to walk for very long...I can still remember how tired I was by the end of the day...I can still remember how sad I was with myself for allowing me to get to that size.....
A dear friend of mine who has a huge weight problem ansd is battling with health issues, she calls me and tells me how terrible she feels....how if only she had the will power to stop over eating, she says why can't I be like you...why can't I stop hurting myself.....I don't have the answers , she did join Sparkpeople but said it was stupid..... I pray for her each day, that something or someone will trigger her need to stop doing this to her self....I have not been able to give her the spark....
I know I can only change myself but it is hard somedays when I see all the obesity around me and I can't really do a darn thing about it.....except be there when they want help.....

Have a healthy Tuesday

Kitt

sorry to hear about your friend, we all have to find what works for us, but one thing I know, denial and quitting doesn't work.

Kitt. I was honestly, just sitting here lamenting myself and the state I am in. Thank you for your blog. I am again reminded that you were me. You did have trouble walking and moving. Your clothes were always too tight. Now just look at you!!! I need your constant reminders to help me stay on track. You have helped me so much today and so many other days too. Tahnks,

I'm sorry that your friend found Spark People to be stupid. I think she just hasn't gotten to the point where she is ready to commit to a healthier lifestyle. It is hard when you're used to doing things one way. Hopefully in time she will get to that point before it's too late.

Hope you're having a great day! Take care!

    Hugs,

I know what you mean, can't get DH to stop eating junk. Very frustrating to fix healthy meals and he goes to Sams and buys things there in large sizes

You have to wonder why a person, like your friend can't see what you have done and want it too, but it does not work that way. I see what you have done and since I meant you I have gained 20 pounds.
Each person has to find their own way, sad but true.

*hugs* Its hard isnt it, and so very frustrating. Im sorry, but remember, we can never really change others, only offer the chance to change, which you already have done.

Kitt, your weight loss and continued maintenance is the best example for your friend. She knows it can be done, because you have demonstrated that. Now all she has to do is decide to do it for herself. Not you - or anyone else - can do it for her.

Kitt, while it's sad that your friend thought SparkPeople was "stupid," it's HER choice. She has to grow up emotionally and take responsibility for her behavior before she'll seriously do anything about it. That seems to be the case with anyone with a problem (weight, drugs, booze, whatever). Obviously she's not ready to do anything and will just keep whining and complaining and feeling terrible...just like we used to until we were finally ready to do the work.

Keep praying for her...perhaps she'll get the message one day. In the meantime, you have done great. Hang in there!

And therein lies the crux of the matter for each and every one of us! We must ALL make our own decision as to whether it's our "time" or not!

Keep praying for you friend. Prayers do get answered in the Lord's time!!

    Hugs! Beverly
