Day 95: Behind, Behinder, Behindest...

Tuesday, April 05, 2011

I don't think it gets more behind than that, lol.

When I worked at the bank, occasionally I would get a customer who had an existing checking account but wanted to open a new, second checking. Why? Because s/he would have the current one so tangled up that it seemed easier to start fresh, let the old one 'settle,' then just start over.

Sometimes (not often) I would almost feel like agreeing with them, but sooner or later I would tackle the account and work at the balance until I got it to the penny, regardless how long it took.

I know exactly how the bank customers felt with their overdrafts and bounced checks and unrecorded ATM withdrawals. My emailbox has a hundred unread messages and I owe scads of letters and notes and comments and whatEVer. I'm tempted to delete everything and start over, lol. I won't (too stubborn!) but it is awfully tempting.

Today started out fine, then the back kicked in, and the rest of the day has been more or less wasted. Convenience meals for supper (Himself never complains and always eats what I put in front of him, but let's face it, even the 'healthy' ones aren't necessarily good for us, just healthier than the standard fare). I gave in today and called the doctor. I'm seeing the GP tomorrow to see what sage advice he can give me. If it's a case of 'work thru the pain,' fair enough: as long as I know I'm not doing farther damage, I'll do that. If it's a case of tests, I'll grit my teeth and do that, much as I hate dealing with it all. Whatever it takes, because I am moving less and less.

No more about the back until either a) there's some news, or b) it's better. And those of you who are praying for me - THANK YOU! Because I believe it helps. In one way or another, it always helps.

Last but not least, re Nutty Joe: I was almost embarrassed about this, but - I had closed the curtain lining one night and the next morning, no Joe. So I did a leetle ex-peer-i-ment. Open the curtains: he's back in a minute. Close 'em, he's gone. My guess is that having the liner closed alters the reflection so he's not interested, because he continued to tap at the other windows on that side of the house. Suits me. As long as the little bugger ain't waking me up before the alarm goes off, he can happily crap all over the windowsills. I truly am a person who needs her rest, lol!

All right, that's it. No Beatleband tonight, I was running late and too far behind.

Goodnight, Sparklers, wherever you are!

I hope your visit to the doctor's is productive, and that silencing the back pain is as simple as silencing the bird! Just don't give up!

I hope the doc can help with your back, and you can be back to your old self in no time. As far as the bird goes I say keep the curtain closed. If your anything like your daughter I can't imagine living with you sleep deprived is pleasant. LOL Above all else more sleep will help your body heal your back faster. emoticon

What a saga with Nutty Joe! Glad the closed curtain seems to discourage him.

I'm so sorry that your back is still hurting. I hope that the doctor can help.

I hear you on being behind. I'm sure you don't have to reply to *all* of the messages!

That's so funny about the bird. :) I'm glad he's not waking you up though.

I love your new page background. Take good care of yourself! emoticon

Ahhh, Kasey. Sorry the back is acting up. Let's hope you can close the curtain on that too after the doctor visit. Still praying for you!

Sorry you're not getting any relief from the back pain...hopefully the doctor will shed some light on what's going on. Better to go have it checked out...

Keep the curtains closed... the rain or a squirt with the hose will clear all of Joe's debris but, getting a good night's rest is well worth it!

    Feel better, Hun! emoticon
