So....after being presented a bonus cheque for rocking out the first half of the fiscal year and then a severance package to advice they will no longer need me I have gone to HR and asked for more money...they didn't say no but they didn't say yes.
I attended a "Transition Assistance" which was actually helpful because it came from 2 Recruiters.
And now today....almost 2 weeks later I have decided to try and buckle down and A. Create an AWESOME resume
B. Network
C. Start looking for work
D. Explore my passions
I would love to travel more....even if it is within the province and surrounding provinces.
I take and love taking AMAZING pictures. Many a time I have been complimented for my "eye". (of course with the scenery.....)
I love being outdoors, hiking through it all.
I love being alone and I love working with others collaboratively
I have some really good common sense
So, what - how - does someone lacking a post-secondary education make use of this? What sort of job does this lead to?
This is truly a time to take advantage of the situation and get into something that I have a passion for AND increase my income.
WOW.....and I hate research!!! LOL Unless it's something cool!
Good news is My spirits have been mostly up, I have stayed true to diet and exercise (except for that initial shock). I actually ran for 35 minutes straight yesterday and have lost weight so all in all it's good.
I was laid off almost 10 years ago from a job that I actually loved so much that after a long weekend I was happy to be back to work and that was really tough. I had to exit the building as soon as I cleaned out my locker and the door was closed. Ouch. That really hurt.
This time I get paid way more money, work for a month to get that closure and I truly feel that in my heart of hearts that this is opening a much bigger door for personal, financial and career growth.
Hopefully I am not nuts and my guts know more than my brain so I am going forth with hope and excitement and pray for the right opportunity to present it's self to me!
Now I better quit putting off that resume writing!!
