State House/Aquarium Visit
Friday, April 15, 2011
Our homeschool group joined a bunch of other homeschoolers on a visit to our State House, followed by a trip to the aquarium. I knew my kids would loath the State House, but it wasn't too bad. A minimum of complaining and they took turns doing it. I guess they know not to stress on momma! We got to meet with our state rep, which was the hilight of our visit there.
We walked about three times as much as we normally do in a day. Our feet hurt! I thought my knees would act up, but they didn't Yeah! And that was even after tripping over a small step and whacking them a good one. But it felt good to walk, even if it was in the city instead of our neighborhood.
Getting in to town and out was actually a lot less stressful than I anticipated. Thank you Lord!!!! I kept giving it back to Him and He gave me a good attitude, which always helps. :-) It also helped that traffic was crawling at 20-30 mph on the freeway. I intensely dislike the 30% of the drivers around here who are tailgaters, cut you off, weave in and out, and speed. Back home it was more like 10% of the drivers, so this is not to my liking at all! but we made it safely home and I was able to maintain a safe following distance, as approved by my newly licensed son. He's quite the taskmaster.
