I have a lap!!!

Sunday, April 17, 2011

Yes, that was a revelation I experienced today. Now, I know we all have one of some form, but for so long mine has been mostly...not. The hubster and I went to our favorite Mexican restaurant this afternoon and as I indulged on a few (just a few...I have to limit myself or I'll eat the whole basket) chips and salsa, a little of the salsa decided it wasn't happy and wanted to leap off the chip! I looked down at my shirt as, in the past, it would have landed squarely on my chest as the girls figure prominently in my, well, my figure. LOL I was amazed ...no salsa. Also amazed it wasn't on my pants. Thankfully it landed on the napkin I had placed on the table to portion out my chips. But I digress. In searching for the errant salsa, I noticed how much room I had between me and the table. There were my thighs, with a second napkin perched happily in place. I know this is a silly thing to blog about, but wow, a lap! It was there all the time hiding behind those 89 pounds that have melted away!

Can't wait to see how much more of a lap I discover as I get closer to my goal weight. emoticon

It is great when we notice these changes in ourselves. It these observations that motivate us. Give yourself a pat on the back, you deserve it.

This is such a huge victory! Congratulations! I actually have gone to restaurants where we were seated at a booth, only having to ask to be moved because I would not fit between the bench and the table. Mortifying! Kudos on your lap!

emoticon LOVE this blog! emoticon It's also great when you discover that you no longer NEED to use the handicap stall in public bathrooms because you can fit in the skinny stalls. The little things in life, lol.

Hi Buddy....I LOVE this blog!!! I had the same revelation yesterday. I took my sons to Moe's for lunch & when I went to sit down at the table I thought..."girl...you ain't gonna fit between that bench & table." I sat down & started eating & looked down & there was plenty of room. Normally my stomach would have been squished behind the table. It was WONDERFUL! All this hard work is really paying off for us isn't it.

That is soo cool...and not silly at all. i'm amazed when I can see my feet...other than the tips of my toes, and without bending over...It may seem silly to someone who has never lost their lap, but to those of us who are in the "know", it's not silly at all, just a celebration of triumph!

It's not silly at all! I remember blogging about my lap when I discovered it! Huge for a big girl to become the girl that can see her lap, I can totally relate.

emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon Not silly at all. When we have a lap, it is easier to breathe, bend over, etc. That is major!! Great job.
