April in Wisconsin

I thought they were kidding ... 6-9" of snow at this point in April? Of course, I do remember a May snowstorm about 20 years ago ... but I don't want to go there. I'm ready for sunshine and flowers and needing to mow my lawn.
The snow started yesterday afternoon. It seemed to be light, but then gradually increased until the air was mostly white.
Here you can see that the snow has begun to accumulate on the grass and that there are clear patches on the back side of the trees.
Here the trees are closer to evening. You can see that the clear patches are disappearing.
I walked last evening on my treadmill. About 7 minutes in to the walk, suddenly the power cycled off and back on. I restarted the machine and finished my walk. I didn't realize that was a warning .... The power went off at 9:30 and stayed off. So I decided it was time for bed. Good thing the down comforter is still on the bed! I stayed nice and toasty under it.
I had also taken my cell phone with me - it was a good light source in a dark house. I am also accustomed to using the alarm feature when I travel, so I set it for 6:30 this morning. When I woke up, the plug-in alarm clock was flashing 1:15. So the power was out almost 8 hours.
Here are my trees this morning. You can see how heavy the snow is. According to the local paper, we received 9.9" of white stuff over night.
But it is April ... and the warmer temps are here. So this final pictures shows mid-afternoon. The sun is shining and snow is melting. I've even heard rumors of 70 by the weekend!
