Exercise and Attitude!

For several months I had been very inconsistent with my exercise routine. Saying things like “work is too busy to take time out for walks.” Or “I have too much to do for my family after work to have time.” I would even think: “how could I take even more time away from my son to work out after already leaving him all day?” It didn’t seem right to make exercise a priority or myself a priority for that matter. After reading some of the articles listed here:
I realized I was blaming a lot of outside forces for my lack of making exercise a priority. Now, I am not saying that I won’t ever miss a work-out because of family demands, but I will not feel guilty letting my husband play with the kids so mommy can get in a 20-30 minute DVD work out in. And I try to no matter what now walk during my 2 - 15 minute breaks at work. And while I walk I try to clear my mind of all stressors and just pay attention to my breathing. It’s amazing what this has done for my attitude even on the most stressful days!
There are days when exercise is just another chore along with my long list of chores… but keeping in mind that it is also a much needed attitude adjustment helps me to make it happen!
(hopefully next time I do not feel like exercising I stumble across this blog! LOL)
