Learning About a "New Normal"

Sunday, May 01, 2011

Well, it has been about 1 1/2 weeks since the surgery and I guess I can say that it has been relatively textbook. I haven't had a lot of pain to contend with, unless you count the gas issue.

I have been moving through the food stages pretty smoothly. I am safely in the 2nd food stage, which is the "full liquid" phase and experimenting with some of the food in the 3rd food stage, which is the "pureed to soft food" phase. I've tried tuna fish and a scrambled egg. I am totally amazed as to how little I can eat now. (It is crazy!)
I am going back to work tomorrow. My big challenge tonight is to figure out how much to pack so that I will be able to have enough energy to last the entire school day. (Yep.... I'm a teacher.)
Wish me luck!

Glad to hear you are doing well! Good luck with work tomorrow! I went back to work about 3 weeks ago. It was rough the first couple of days- energy was very low! But gets better each day. I had open RNY not laproscopic so I was off for 6 weeks- emoticon Vicky
