INJURY!!!!! EPIC FAIL...... grrrrrr

Hello my Spark People Friends.
I know I have been MIA (due to lap top not going to work with me and working the late night this week so not coming home to get on the lap top) however, I wanted to update everyone.

Remember when I said I stepped wrong during level two and hurt my foot a little? Well, I hurt it a lot actually. And then the swelling began.

I thought I would only have to sit out a day or two, however the day or two has now turned into a whole week I think (feels like FOREVER).

This morning I noticed the swelling finally starting to go down a little pit, and the sharp stabbing pains are not as sharp and stabbing. Really hoping that by the start of next week I'll be ready to go back at it.

Now the question is, can I just pick back up at level 2, or should I start all the way over? GULP. I really don't want to start all the way over. Grrr.

In better news, for mother's day my husband got me a KILLER elliptical. I'm very excited. I wanted to work on it this morning, however, for fear of injuring the foot that is finally starting to heal, I dared not do it.

Tomorrow morning I think I will try. And I think I will at the very least add some good elliptical cardio daily if my Shredding continues to be postponed by the foot.


How is everyone else going? REALLY REALLY REALLY hoping I am the ONLY one who had such a setback. It's been GREAT watching everyone continue to progress, and honestly, it helps keep me motivated even while I feel like I'm having to sit it out on the sidelines for a bit.

Ok, sorry this has to be so quick. However, I am OPEN to suggestions about how to incorporate the Shred Back in if anyone else has ever experienced such a setback.

Hope all my sparkpeople have an awesome day. Going to try to get on here tonight to see how everyone has been doing and leave some love on ya'll pages.

    i would do 5 days of level 1 to get your strength back up and then start back up with level 2. this way you arent cheating anything out and you will feel really rewarded when you fully do it :)
    or try doing 2 days of level 1 and then do level 1 and level 2

    Oh, that sucks! Hope it feels better soon.

    If it were me I don't think I'd automatically start all over. Maybe start again with the level you did when you hurt yourself and gauge how you feel. If you feel good you can just keep right on going, if it feels too hard start over again.

    I hate injurious!!! My leg gets sore every time I do 30+ minutes of cardio. Same leg, same place. It does go away within 24 hours. I've only had one injury, in my arm, that set me back from strength training for a week, and it made me so mad!! But definitely rest your ankle until it's ALL better, as hard as it may be! Don't wanna make it worse!

    I hope your foot will get better quickly! I love ellipticals how fun!! I think it is so awesome that your husband is so supportive and helpful! I think (because I am crazy haha) I would start with level 2 when going back to the 30 day shred. Level 2 is hard and I have never in my life had so much sweat during a workout. Saturday is the last day for level 2 and excited to see what level 3 is for mothers day :) Have a great day!!
