i need cca meetings---coca cola anonymous

Friday, May 06, 2011

So, today I got in a pretty good work out, focusing more on strength training, the upper back and arms.
Did a little (but not enough) cardio.
Hoping soon the rain and wind that has been here for so long, will go away and I can finally walk.
REALLY WALK....
It seems when I think its going to be a good day for it, as soon as I step out, the wind gets so bad, I end up running for cover.
But overall, it was a pretty good day, went with honey to his docs appt after he came from work and then went to eat.
Had a chicken club and ok ok, I did have a COKE....
But I cant help it, its my fall from grace.
That monkey on my back...I once blogged about my drug of choice and how my dealer was on every street...waiting for my money, luring me, seducing me the ice cold red can!!!!!!
Hope all of you had a good day and stay out of meanness!!!!

I cant be any help here....I drink a lot of diet coke/pepsi. I really do...probably unhealthy amounts! I drink it more for the caffiene than anything (dont like coffee). I drink a lot of iced tea too.

I wish I could give it up!

    Good luck though

I really feel u I was a pepsi addict, but 12/31/2010 i said I'm gonna give up pepsi and meat until my birthday in march. I did and I lost 18 pounds, I use to drink 3 20 oz bttles at work and 2 20 oz bottles when I got home. I have one once a week now. emoticon

I used to be the same way about Diet Coke. Addicted to it. The aspartame is proven to slow or prevent weight loss in most people. I eventually switched to regular root beer or ginger ale as a substitute. Eventually I went cold turkey due to wanting to eliminate the calories. Worked so far. Every once in a while I treat myself to a can of root beer but not often. I can still drink the Canadian version of the stuff around here but bought a can a couple of months back down in the USA and literally dumped the entire can out the window as I drove (kept the can for recycling of course). Couldn't stand the taste of it anymore. Far sweeter than the Canadian version of the same brand.

Good luck on getting rid of the evil red menace.

Hang in there and don't give up....I am formerly the #1 Coca Cola addict. I went "cold turkey" because if Coke was in the house I ignored my water.

So I started on that water and when I reached 10# off, I decided to treat myself as a reward. I almost spit it out. (honestly, I almost cried, too). It was WAAAAAAY to sweet. I actually did not even like it, and didn't drink more than the first sip.

I'm NOT saying it was easy, but our bodies DO adjust and acclamate to new surroundings. Hang in there...drink only water for that snack...give yourself an attainable goal to work for...and treat yourself to a Coke. You may still enjoy it, so just enjoy it...then re-start a new goal. Good luck!
