Rough day

Friday, May 13, 2011

I was on-call last night. And got two pages for possible kidney transplant. At 2am and then 2:30am. By the time I had finished w/those, I couldn't go back to sleep. Sleep eludes me even when I'm not on call. So nothing unusual about that. Except it made for a rough day.

Had a full day in clinic this morning....followed by many return calls to patients....calling in refills....checking on labs and following up on abnormal results. This is a typical work day for me.....but was particularly hard today without sleep. Managed to pull off a 10 hour work day before I went home.

The good news is that since I was up at 3am, wide awake....I took advantage of the quiet and got caught up on my computer stuff. Emails, facebook and SPARKING! Really racked up some points reading some articles. So much good information!

Then I hopped on my treadmill and walked 30 min. Then picked up some free weights and worked my upper body (hoping to get rid of the wings!!). I tracked today and went over my calorie goal by 200....guess I shouldn't have had that second glass of wine. But I don't care. I deserved it today. It was a rough day.'ll be better!

Hope you are caught up on your sleep! Sounds like a rough work day on the little sleep....but you're making the best of it. Atta girl! You asked about the Yoga DVD of Jillians...I watched it...did the first 10 minutes with her, then just watched the rest. It is pretty intense...but good. She has two different levels of girls doing it so you can follow the beginner one if need be. I needed to watch it through one time so that I would have a better idea of what was going on. It was hard to watch it, do it, and listen to the instructions all at the same I thought watching one time then trying to follow it might work out better. The closet organizing book I got was called Closet Control by Barbra Horowitz. It comes with a DVD of her doing closet sessions with her clients. (Mine was $9.98 at Half-Price Books...and they had a few copies.) It's very interesting. I had the concept of going through my clothes and deciding what to keep, what to alter, and what to donate. She also advises choosing items to change up a bit to make them more modern or fit a different way. That was something I had not thought of. Interesting. I'll blog about my closet makeover when I get it going and complete. I must do's no longer a want to...but a have to. Hope you are having a great weekend...staying on plan...and finding the positives in your journey! Spark on! emoticon

I've always said a nurse does it all. Since I've been dealing with the medical community for several months now, I've come to appreciate the really good nurses I've met. You have so much responsibility and do it so calmly! Thanks

Hope you get some sleep tonight and good going on the exercise.
