Day 134: An Evening Of--

Saturday, May 14, 2011

--bleh. Tonight was the annual Eurovision contest. (You Europeans, and even the Aussies, probably know what I'm talking about. North and South Americans... mebbe not. Suffice it to say it's a marathon song competition.)

Every year the singer(s) I want fail to win. What's worse is each year's winner strikes me as so dull and insipid that I wonder how it could win. And it becomes not just a marathon song competition, but a marathon television session - I'm definitely OTV'd tonight. The program started at 8 and was supposed to finish by 11:15 (TOO LONG!), and it ran late. My backside does not want to sit for three+ hours, not even on a relatively soft sofa.

So no real blog, just a quick goodnight - we'll see what tomorrow brings. Goodnight, Sparklers, wherever you are!

Those shows, like American Idol, always seem to favor the mediocre -- I guess the one in the middle has the most appeal -- which usually means my favorite doesn't win either. I can relate! Since we enjoy watching them anyway, we're walking around the house during commercials. At least then we get something out of it!

I watched Britain's got talent and was seriously amazed by the Scottish guy Jai something or other. If you get the chance to catch him take it. I've never made it through a Eurovision -- you've convinced me I haven't missed anything... thanks for that.

Hope you slept well and are out enjoying this beautiful day we've got!

Sounds like American Idol. My favorite, Casey, got voted off last week.
