Years ago I was on a food addicts eating plan and the reason it worked so well for me was that the foods were limited, as they are now on my WW Filling Foods plan, and I only had to get through one meal at a time. In thinking back, I can bring that mental approach into the 21st century with me to reduce the stress of worrying about my total points for the day.
As a food addict, I can't handle too much at once when it comes to food and food related issues. I can only do breakfast without concern for what lunch will bring. More than one meal at a time throws me into a state of confusion, and I want to have it all at once. Thereby, I'll have more of this or that, and it won't matter. I can't deal with it, so I sweep it under the rug. Maybe that's why so many of us have nightime food issues. We eat, and go to sleep, wake up hours later, and it just never happened. I know I've said this before, but it's worth repeating because it happens again and again, until we take control of it and become aware.
So for today, I will get through this day only, one meal at a time. I FEEL better and a lot more free already. Baby steps, baby steps. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

great attitude and thanks for sharing! i eat like mad overnight... i wake up starving... but like you said, it's more of a mental game than just putting food in my mouth. i am inspired by your strength and hope to hear more in the future. but for now, one meal at a time is going to be my plan too.

    yours, jen

I'm going to try your good approach and just think about one meal at a time, thanks for the idea. I usually really have a battle with myself at night as I don't know if it's psychology or what but I can't seem to fall asleep at night unless I feel full. . .and that night time eating really slows down my WL progress. Any suggestions or insights for that would be appreciated. . .It's just recently that I've accepted the fact that yes, I am a food addict and turn to food usually for emotional reasons and/or boredom.

Good for you! That's the way to look at it- one meal at a time. That attitude will prevent you from getting overwhelmed and wanting to give up. And congratulations on losing 60 pounds. That is quite an accomplishment.
