And so another week begins...

I woke up early this morning and so I've been sitting here listening to the birds chirping away outside while everyone else sleeps. It's nice and peaceful. I've also been wandering around the Spark site and noticed that today is the official day of a new week when it comes to my goals and so it's time to start thinking about what my goals will be this week. I have the obvious ones:

Do at least 10 minutes of exercise at least 5 days this week. emoticon

Practice a stress-busting exercise daily (maybe I'll start a gratitude journal). emoticon

and, of course, log into Spark every day. emoticon

But would I be overdoing it if I added a few other goals? I feel as though I need to set a few goals to make it through tomorrow as it's bound to be a slightly stressful day for me. Tomorrow is the annual Memorial Day picnic at my mother-in-law's place... there's always a ton of junk food and not much as far as healthy foods to eat plus there's a bit of stress from being around my in-laws because of past issues (okay, current ones too, let's be honest). So perhaps two more goals would not be a bad idea:

Take a plate of fresh veggies and fruit to snack on along with a low-cal dip to enjoy with them. But take enough for everyone... emoticon

Take my knitting with me... if I keep my hands busy maybe I'll be less likely to snack a lot while I'm there. emoticon

Take my tennis racket with me (and get my husband and daughter to take theirs too). There are tennis courts nearby and maybe we can get a few rounds of tennis in while the others sit around fishing or go swimming. emoticon

With these goals maybe on Tuesday I won't be on here whining about how I gained a few pounds on Memorial Day! It's worth a shot anyways! emoticon

    I think most people can relate to the issues with the in-laws!! I think your goals sound great!! And they will be good so you don't have to whine on Tuesday about gaining weight because you ate junk food. And you will feel better!! Get out and hit some tennis balls for me!! I have a feeling it will be raining here most of the day. Happy Memorial Day!! Angie
