RELEASING SOME STRESS TODAY

Tuesday, May 31, 2011

TODAY IS A GOOD DAY BECAUSE I WON'T ALLOW IT TO GO BAD, EVEN THOUGH IT WANTS TO. I WENT TO THE MALL AND RETURNED A BUNCH OF CLOTHES I PURCHASED TWO WEEKS AGO ON A BUYING BINGE. WHEN I TOOK OUT MY WARM WEATHER CLOTHES AT HOME LAST WEEK, I REALISED THAT I HAD ENOUGH PANTS AND CAPRIS TO GET ME THROUGH THE SUMMER. SO I KEPT ONE OR TWO NICE ITEMS AND RETURNED THE REST. IT FELT LIKE CLEANING HOUSE. I'M REALISING THAT I HAVE JUST TOO MUCH STUFF. MAYBE IT'S ALSO MY AGE AND THE YEARS OF ACCUMULATION THAT'S CATCHING UP TO ME. I'M DOING A CLEAN SWEEP AND PLANNING ON DONATING STUFF TO MY HANDICAPPED GROUP'S CHINESE AUCTION IN JULY.
THE BAD PART THAT'S TRYING TO TAKE ME DOWN IS THAT THE DOOR FELL OFF MY REFRIGERATOR AND THERE'S NO ONE TO FIX IT. MY GRANDSON CAME OVER AND FIXED IT LAST NIGHT, BUT THEN IT CAME OFF AGAIN TODAY. OF COURSE, THE WARRANTEE IS EXPIRED. I'M JUST NOT GOING TO STRESS OVER IT. THERE'S NOT TOO MUCH IN IT RIGHT NOW, SO IF I HAVE TO TOSS ANYTHING OUT, WELL, OUT IT GOES. I'M JUST IN THAT KIND OF MINDSET RIGHT NOW. DON'T KNOW WHERE THIS PEACE IS COMING FROM EXCEPT IT'S FROM THE LORD, SO I ACCEPT IT AND PRAISE GOD FOR IT.
TOMORROW IS WEIGH IN DAY BUT I HAD MY SLICE OF PIZZA AT THE MALL ANYWAY. IT WAS MY LUNCH, AND I REALLY ENJOYED IT.
I'M ALSO COMING TO GRIPS WITH MY HANDICAPPED CONDITION AGAIN, AND EACH TIME I DO, I RELEASE MORE OF THE SHAME AND STIGMA I FEEL BECAUSE OF IT. JUST WANTED TO SHARE WITH MY SPARK FRIENDS BECAUSE WE'RE ALL IN IT TOGETHER AND EACH PERSON WHO SHARES HELPS SOMEONE SOMEWHERE, I THINK. HOPE SO ANYWAY.

I have a new rule at my house - if I buy something - something has to go. I donate to a lady who provides any and everything for "her vets". So, I always have a "Jodi bag" going to give to her. She can usse it all, and it has definitely kept my "stuff" under better control.

Good attitude........keep it up! vista emoticon

Patty, I just love your blog. It made me smile to read your words. I'm so proud of you. I need to read it when I'm having one of those days myself. After all, we all have them. You're a fine example of how to handle them. Thanks, for blogging about it!

You're handling all your stress really well--kudos to you!! I hope you soon get the help you need to fix your fridge door. . .if one of my son's can't fix it then I'm usually forced to call a handyman and they are a lot cheaper than an appliance repairman. It's great you weeded through your clothes and took a major step in keeping only what you can wear and need--boy, I need to do that too! I also feel the stigma of being handicapped and I'm just glad you have really good friends that stick with you as I feel some of my friends have just given up on me as it's too hard to accommodate my needs! Hugs and prayers for you Patty.

I had that happen to a refrigerator in an apartment I was living in a few years ago. They were slow about fixing it so I used a cooler and ice for a week or so - I probably ate better that week because I had no frozen dinners or ice cream!
I'm glad you're keeping a positive attitude and are continuing to move forward. I sometimes thinks things like that happen to challenge us - and you're definitely meeting the challenge.
    Stay positive!

You assessed the situation, made adjustments (clothing returns) and are not letting stress beat you. Way to go! I am glad you are in a good place mentally.

Sounds like you are keeping a positive attitude even when the going gets tough. BTW maybe your refrigerator has reversible doors (most do). If so maybe one of your neighbors can help you. I know it's hard to ask someone outside of the family for help, but I bet someone is just waiting to do a favor! Hang in there.
