I'm trying shirataki noodles-Zero calories

Sunday, June 05, 2011

June 2011--What IF every soup, every serving of spaghetti, every rice dish was zero calories for pasta? There are estimates of losing 50-70 pounds per year using these Japanese noodles. I'll step up to try that!

I just ordered konjac shiritaki noodles with no calories, no gluten, (not the tofu kind). One health food store said they were out--these noodles "fly off the shelves!" Picture that! ha! Imagine you eat angel hair spaghetti with only the calories of the tomato sauce! Where do I get this zero cal food? I checked out 2 grocery stores, Winn Dixie and Publix here in central Florida. They had no idea & do not carry the product. Geewhiz. I'm finding google searches back to 2005. I read about it from my teammates at Clean Eating Recipes. They sent me on my search for noodles!!! Oh, boy! ha!!

But seriously, if I can reduce my pasta poundage per year, I'm game. I ordered at Miraclenoodle.com after spending half of the day reading everything online that skeptical people will read. The second health food store lady told me on the phone that her store has the tofu kind. She personally orders for herself the online miraclenoodles. That pretty much sold me. I got the double order of 20 packages of angel hair. One lady on the Clean Eating Team says she eats it before bed to take the place of late night snacking since it's filling. If it's that great, I'll eat it at breakfast mixed in with "Eggstirs," at lunch with my chicken burger and veggies, and at dinner with spaghetti sauce. Can't wait to give you the great noodle report!

Please tell me if you have had success! That will inspire me!

Good luck losing those pounds, kids!

I am debating on buying these. So how was it for you?

Check Chamberlin's, they've definitely got them. As a pasta fanatic, I was thrilled to find Miracle Noodles. I season them up with steamed shrimp and broccoli, with onion, garlic, ginger, paprika, and Liquid Aminos (in place of Soy Sauce). If you can get past the initial smell (rinse the heck out of them), and don't expect them to perfectly duplicate pasta, I think you'll enjoy them.
