My monthly intention for June is to stay within my calorie range six days per week.
I began eating within my calorie range on Thursday of last week. Wow, what a difference in the way that I feel. I also decided to give myself one day per week to go over my calorie range. I have been against this in the past, but face it, I obviously go over my calorie range on most days or I would be at my goal weight. So, by allowing myself one day per week to go over, I have eliminated the guilt...that would turn into negative self talk... that I once felt when going over my calories. So, on Friday after I tracked all of my food and had used all of my daily calories, I allowed myself to enjoy popcorn. It was great and it was okay. On Saturday I went right back to eating within my calorie range.
My bikram classes are going much better because my stomach is not overful and last night I only needed 5.5 hours of sleep. I had such a wonderful morning because I arose an hour earlier than normal and was not rushed at all.
So, this month, I give myself structure and flexibility.
