Secrets to Success

When new people join Sparkpeople, they find there way to my spark page, which delights me. I still like hearing people tell me I inspire them , or I have given then hope that they can reach there goals too...That is very motivating for me too and as you might have found out we all need those boosts in our motivation....
I got a couple of very nice posts and emails from some ladies saying they thought I should have won the before and after contest, they said they read it on a thread here some where, not really sure what they were talking about but it did make me feel pretty good.....I think one of the secrets to success in most things is to remind your self where you have been and where you are now.....
but the other things that has helped me to succeed and to maintain is as follows: learn to love your self no matter what, find what works for you...eating small meals 6-7 a day works for me. it might not for you.
finding foods that satisfy me, and are healthy...give up as much processed foods as possible, eating out less is a huge factor for me...
finding foods that fit in to your life style is important, don't eat things just because they say they will drop a dress size this week, not true....I don't care how many people say it is so...
think of your food plan for the long haul, can you do this for the rest of your live....
and don't fool your self, be real open and honest, if you ate a bag of chips or 3 icecream bars, don't ask your self why the scale hate you....
Don't dwell on what went wrong dwell on what went Right if today the best you did wad drink 8 glasses of water , than write down you meet your water goal....
Each day is a chance to do better, I start each morning thanking God for the strength to do this one more day, I thank him each night for the courage to do it again,the next day...
In the beginning it was very rough and if you think you can make it one more day, think about 1 more hour, somedays I had to give my self a pat for just making it through that hour or that meal
but the biggest thing that has helped me reach my goal is the support , the information, the tools I get here on Spark People this is a no non sense approach to living healthy, not just loosing weight, it helps you every steep of the way if you are willing to follow those steps....listen to what you learn here, forget what you have tried in the past, this is what works, it can be scary and for those of use who need to be in control it might be even scarier..but what do you have to loose, 20 pounds, 50 pounds or like me 200+ pounds...
to this day I get misty eyed thinking I have lost over 2 pounds, me the women who thought if only I could loose 20 pounds I would be thankful....then I told myself if only I could get below 300 pounds....well I won't bore you will all my goal markers but with the help of God, Spark people and really hard work on my part I did manage to go from 337 pounds to 140, well even 138 at one point....It is my miracle....I am a healthy happy SparkPeople miracle....and darn some days I am just busting with energy to try and save the whole world....well it feels that way....
Thanks to all my SparkFriends for the support every step of the way....remember I am now here for you too..

for those who don't know I do have before and after pictures on my spark page and for you sweet ladies who posted ..as far as I am concerned I did win the before and after contest in my own life....with sparkpeople I have learned to be a winner in my own heart and soul, and no one can ever take that away from me....
