Severe weather = no fitness minutes

Saturday, June 11, 2011

Wow!! Last week 3 tornados come within 8 miles of my house, and this past Thursday a line of very severe thunderstorms come rumbling through with heavy winds , lightening and massive amounts of rain. Trees blown over, power wires down and after 3 days we just got power back on.
Ended up losing all the food in fridge, plus I have a hobby of tropical fish (African Chiclids) and ended up losing all of them. No oxygen going into the tank plus no heater = dead fish. Total worth about 125.00 ..

When I got up this morning I knew the power was going to be out until at least this afternoon so I figured I would spend most of the day outside . HOWEVER it was again pouring out so no biking, gardening or yard work..

I ended up taking the laundry which has been festering since Wednesday to my parents and took care of that big pile.

When I got home the power was finally on but now in the process of cleaning out the fish tank, cleaning out the refrigerators and throwing all that stuff out.

This weather since the beginning of January has been so severe . Hopefully it will settle down some so the people who went through the terrible tornado can get some normalcy back and everything can get cleaned up around here..

They say more rain tonight and Sunday so not sure about any outside fitness minutes just yet.. Might have to settle for the gym Sunday morning.

The pictures you have look a lot like Battle Creek MI when we got the tornados last week. I certainly know how you feel and am sorry you are having to deal with the storm's repercussions. I hope things do calm down for you as well, keep your head up!!

I don't know what's up with this weather lately. Crazy, huh? It's seems to be going to the extremes.

I'm so sorry to hear about the continuous severe weather and your loss of electricity resulting in other losses, especially your poor fish. We have had so much rain and thick fog here, but nothing like what you have endured. After three days in the 90s we plummeted back down the 50s and 60s. Boy, Mother Nature must be pissed off! I am sending you good wishes for calm and peaceful summer weather to come your way.

    Hang in there!

    Hope
