What do you do when you just want a crunchy slightly salty snack....
as most know I try to limit my processed foods, if you check out my menu you will see I eat mostly what I call clean foods, we eat out very little, like maybe once a month.
After more than 5 years here at Sparkpeople I have tried to always think healthy when I reach for food.....
there are time I just want some sort of snack that is processed, so the other day I ran across something I had never seen before ..it was called PRINGLES BAKED WHEAT STIX, there are several flavors, cheese, jalapeño, honey and pizza I had to check out the nutrition facts. Much to my surprise they were 90 calories pack..( I'm not big on the 100 cal tings cuz of price and they are processed)
so here are the fact:
sodium(a biggy for me) 140
are these a stable in my food plan, NO but for those times I just have to have a processed treat I think these are way better than potato chips, which always lead me to a huge binge
or chex mix or any of the rest of the junk I like......
I must say that the jalapeño flavor has 270 sodium, so that is my least favorite....
I just want to say that I am trying to find ways to eat healthy 90 % of the time, give myself permission to find foods that I like and use for special times....but still watch the nutrition.. I'm trying to find things that I can live with for the rest of my life and never go back to old habit..and thinking I'll eat perfect for ever is not realistic....
am I making excuses.......maybe but any way I am happy with my new find.....
Fishing on the boat was great fun.....I will be going again, Leah had fun too, she loves to boat.
out to the hot tub, well for tonight it's the warm tub, it was very warm today..time to relax
