Do you follow a plan or do your own thing?

When I first started losing, I didn't really follow a set exercise plan. I got the Turbo Jam workouts and honestly, I didn't even follow the workout calendar. I just basically did whichever workout I had time for/felt like doing on a particular day. I did try to exercise at least 4 days a week though.

Now, that I'm almost at goal, it's harder and harder to lose. I can go weeks following plan, exercising 5-6days a week no maybe lose .5lb. It can be frustrating, but I have to remember how far I have come. I try to follow set exercise plans now, becuase I feel it kind of takes the guesswork out of it. I am in week 5 of Turbo Fire schedule. Here is the plan I follow:

Monday: Fire 55 (55 minutes of kickboxing cardio)
Tuesday: Fire 30 (30 minutes of cardio) & Sculpt 30 (toning w/ resistance bands)
Wednesday: rest day
Thursday: Fire 30 & Tone 30 (strength training)
Friday: Fire 55ez
Saturday: Fire 45 (45 min of cardio kickboxing)
Sunday: core 20 & stretch 40 (yoga)

This is the plan I basically try to follow and it changes every 4 weeks. I do substiture workouts sometimes based on my energy level. Sometimes I'll do a yoga workout from yogatoday.com instead of a kickboxing class.

So what about you? Do you follow a plan? Or create your own? Or just do what feels good?

    For me, I follow a plan that I created myself. I tried last time (lots of time) with plan that created by others but it was so hard to keep and I would feel guilty when I didn't do as instructed. So, I just got ideas and tips and make my own plan :D

    Wow, lots of Fire in your plan, AWESOME! And it covers all three - cardio, strength and flexibility :D

    I am not following any particular plan. If I can make it to the gym with both kids, I go. If they have zumba at the Muslim fitness center, I go. If nothing else, I will put the kids in the double stroller and walk around the neighborhood if the weather is okay or even around the mall for an hour. If I can't make it out of the door, I do one of the DVD's I have at home. If my sisters are willing we do Just Dance 2. Don't be fooled by its classification as a game. If you put it on nonstop shuffle, it's a serious workout! If I am downstairs with the kids, I'll pull up some youtube videos and watch a playlist and follow. I just have to get moving somehow.

    first great going on what you have already achieved emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon me i just go for what i have time to do but i try to do something everyday.i have to work my exercise round my life and not my life around my exercise like i know some people do.

    SINCE MY FAMILY ISN'T DOING THIS WITH ME, I AM DOING MY OWN THING. I TRY TO CHANGE OUR EATING HABITS A LITTLE AT A TIME TO HELP ALL OF US.
