small setback and really horrible day

Well It's just a small setback, I hope. On Thursday I broke my little toe on a shopping card while loading my groceries into my trunk. Who would have thought? I was moving myself forward to get between the cart and my trunk and caught my little toe on the wheel. OUCH and OUCH. It blew up rather large and was at a 90 degree angle. Toe wouldn't stay on the flip flop. Ouch and Ouch. So I loaded the groceries and then had to drive home 25 min and then unload the groceries and then put them all away. Fortunately I had Advil in my purse.
If that wasn't enough, the grandkids were coming over swimming so I had to go out and uncover and vacumn the pool. While I was doing that I heard a crash. It was windy outside and our table umbrella was up and the wind blew it and the glass table shattered. So I had to clean that up too. And then I had to work that night.
So what I thought was going to be a nice relaxing day turned out to be a painful, stressful day, horrible, really bad day.

So my question is Since I can't walk too well (walking is my main) what kind of exercise can I do now so that I don't lose the momentum or get lethargic over the next couple weeks? Any ideas? Pool is only 24 round and not conducive to doing laps.

    So sorry to hear guess those flip flops can be dangerous with a shopping cart.
    Perhaps you can do some exercise from Sparks by the computer, only an idea.

    Poor you Carol...I did exactly the same thing about 25 yrs ago...hope you've got it strapped tight to the other toes so it mends properly.
    Re others have suggested sitting exercises and the bike of course...take care my friend and you'll soon be 100% again.

    Oh, sorry about your toe. Take care of your foot. Do some stretching and strength exercises. I made a mistake of walking on a sprain and it is taking longer to heal because of it. I hope your toe gets better soon.

    I understand broken toes, my little toes has been broken by hitting things on my own...they do hurt......Sorry about that...walking w/ little toe up is what I did after a week off....good luck....

    You can do sitting exercises. You can dig out any exercise tapes you have.Even good old Richards. Then just do all the arm exercises sitting.Improvise of leg ones but stay seated. It will work.
    I am always breaking the toe next to little one.Poor thing is always black and blue.

    Exercise bike would be the best. If you don't have one, then at the least, just watch your eating.

    I'm sorry you got hurt. Hope it will heal quickly. When I broke my little toe a few months ago {It got caught in my swimsuit when I was dressing at the pool) I used the exercise bikes at the gym as well as swimming.

    You could do a lot of weight exercises--leg lifts, crunches, bicep curls, etc. The way I am feeling right now, it would be a great excuse to just sit and quilt. lol You sound like you are having my kind of life right now. Hope it heals quickly so you can get back to walking again.
