Is it Random? Could be

Saturday, August 06, 2011

Anyone feel like their calorie range is random? I mean it sets it based on whatever weight you want to loose and your estimated exercise, which I don't always do, so I feel like it is just non-specific. Does anyone calculate using a different site? What if I exercise more or less, isn't it risking it?

I will look up the BMR. Will all those calculators be the same?

    Hi,

To some degree it can be random, but use a BMR calculator to see what your minimum should be. Then add on to that. The biggest mistake people, and prepared food weight loss companies make, is to eat less than their BMR - which will put your body into starvation mode and cause loss to slow down or start dipping into muscle mass for the extra calories it needs.

Over time, your BMR will go down and you can decrease your calories accordingly.

I follow my points, for me it's easier. I'll track it in here just to see how much of carbs and protein I got and cuz hey, you get the silly little points for doing it. LOL. I just find it not only easier for me, but it makes more sense to me since my points are just off my weight. (I follow the Momentum, can't stand the new Pro points all I did was gain). There is a few app called my fitness pal, but it's basically the same thing as the tracker here.
