online bank fraud......:(

im just taking some time to warn everyone that there is a major scam happening. i was sent an email that said my account was reporting suspicious activity and i needed to answer some questions....so i did....:( and this gave the scammers access to my account and they emailed transferred all my money right out of my account. my bank is returning the full amount to me but it still angers me that ppl out there are so dishonest. i am a Canadian and i no many of my sparkers are from the US of A ,,,,but everyone please be careful. if you get any of these emails please send them to
onlinefraud@BMO.com and even if thats not the bank involved, it can be forwarded to that institution and maybe these ppl will be caught!!!!!

    Whenever I get an email saying something like that, and it looks official? I close out the email, go into a different browser and type in the institution's url myself to log in and check statuses. If there is something truly wrong, it'll be there. Usually from there they will have a message saying to contact customer care or the like. I don't trust email notifications for this reason. I'm so sorry that someone did this to you, it's especially horrible when people screw with your money because money is needed for so many aspects of our day to day lives. HUGS!

    def agree there are alot of theives out there, beware of everything. I have to tell my mom don't tell anyone anything on the phone- always call them back so you know you are calling your bank or your credit card co etc. Older people are often an easy prey for these JERKS!!!

    I am glad they are giving your money back.

    Oh, these have been going on around here for YEARS! Get them all the time about my credit card is going to be canceled if I don't answer their questions. Funny thing is, I don't HAVE credit cards anymore! LOL!

    I'm glad U are getting your money back. Some aren't so lucky in getting theirs back.
