Wise Things My Grandma Told Me

You are special.

Manners matter.

Treat others the way you want to be treated.

Your life can be what you want it to be.

Take the days one day at a time.

Always play fair.

Count your blessings, not your troubles.

Don't put limits on yourself.

It is never too late.

Put things back where you found them.

Decisions are too important to leave to chance

Reach for the stars.

Clean up after yourself.

Nothing wastes more energy than worrying.

The longer you carry a problem, the heavier it gets.

Say "i'm sorry" when you've hurt someone.

A little love goes a long way.

Friendship is always a good investment.

Don't take things too seriously.

My grandma was a very hard working woman who raised 4 children by herself after my grandfather died in a farming accident (My mother was only 5). She never asked for help or felt sorry for herself. She opened her home as a boarding house. Cooked, cleaned, kept a garden and raised her children to be independent and hardworking too. I loved sitting with her and hearing stories of the early day and her childhood. I miss her very much. She is by far the most favorite person in my life.

(I wish I had a digital picture of her I could share with you)
