why do I turn to food

As most of you know I turn to food when I ever things are a bit off centered ....I have read several books about emotional eating....I really got a lot of good useful insight from the book Life is hard food is Easy by Linda Spangle..she also has a book to go along with any diet plan or healthy lifestyle plan called 100 days of weight loss...I co-lead this group but my friend Jules really does the work.....I reccomend both these books if you struggle with emotional eating....there are also free web sites and a daily blog done by Linda going over the book day by day....I'll try to post the links at the end of my blog.....
I'm telling you all this because today's blog (Lindas blog) hit home with me and answers some questions I get from people about how do I loose weight and mostly how do I keep it off...
her blog states this"DURING TIMES WHEN YOU FEEL UNSETTLED, ANXIOUS AND INSECURE, FOOD CAN EASILY BECOME YOUR SECURITY BLANKET"
wow how true is that statement.....I sure can relate to that.... the trick is to retrain yourself to do other things, make a list of things you can do other than food....take a walk, knit, call a friend, take a nap, cry, read a book...the true secret to maintaining your weight loss is to not over eat and keep exercising...but lets be honest that is a tough job .....so along your weight loss journey you need to find out whats bugging you , what makes you turn to food....and change it....no excuse, that some one else MAKES you do the things you do....you are the master of your body and you and you alone can make changes you can stick with for the rest of your life......

I also read today that even 15 minutes of exercise a day will help you live longer and be happier, now aren't you worth 15 minutes a day.....think about it...
