Day 229: 'nother Day...

...but no dollars. Unfortunately.
I finally convinced Himself that we needed to get out in the yard and do some major overhauling - it's getting that unkempt look. You know what I mean. The kind of overgrown yard look that vacant lots and haunted houses have. Hah.
Of course, I probably wasn't thinking straight when I nagged him... um, that is, persuaded him that we needed to get cracking on it, especially as we're working on changing realtors. I probably should've kept my mouth shut, because we spent two hours this afternoon cutting brush and hauling limbs to the front of the house and chopping down small trees and all that happy-crappy. And let me tell you, garden gloves or no garden gloves, pyracanthus is one mean sticker-bush!
After having done all that, 1) the plantar fasciitis is visiting; 2) the back is acting up; 3) the knee is singing Ave Maria. Not necessarily in that order. We've hardly made a dent, but it's a good feeling that we've at least started. If the weather cooperates this coming weekend (and if the cardiac treadmill test doesn't cause me to buy the farm) I figure we should be able to get between a quarter to a third of it cleaned up. Not bad for a couple of old fogies.
So we met with another realtor, which means the house is spiffed up. Other than that, I guess I didn't get a lot done beyond the usual (cooking, mostly) but it's been a pretty good day all in all, productive and quiet. Suits me.
With that - goodnight, Sparklers, wherever you are!
