Day 230: This 'n' That
Thursday, August 18, 2011
Today has been semi-busy: as Faithful Readers know, Thursdays are one of the grocery days at the Coff household, so first thing this morning the routine is menus - grocery list - shopping. By the time we were finished and back home, it was lunchtime, but this afternoon has been quieter.
I called my aunt this afternoon and gabbed for an hour - she is a real ray of sunshine for me, and my day was surely brightened. I have some more things I've found in my research (including a copy of a letter that was published in their local paper in 1944 - it was a letter my father wrote to their parents, about his trip from the US to the Pacific - he was a new enlistee at the end of WWII) that I'm sending off to her tomorrow.
Other than that, there are several things hanging fire - I forgot to call and schedule the eye exam that's due. I need to pay the rental bill on the storage unit I still - still! - have in PA. Which has gone up another $10 / month. I need to get over there and clean it out and be done with it, but I dunno when THAT's gonna happen.
I've felt somewhat scatterbrained today, but I think it's down to the impending treadmill stress-test at the cardio clinic. That's tomorrow morning, and I'm rather dreading it, as I don't think I'll be able to manage it. I'm not (yet) worried about the rest results so much as about my ability.
Well, one thing at a time, eh? I think I'll be like Scarlett: "I won't think about that now. I'll think about that tomorrow."
Goodnight, Sparklers, wherever you are!
