Just walking the dog

Friday, August 19, 2011

Hey sparkers, I don't know if you are like me but I use let my dog out in the yard to do her business. I hardly ever walked her. Sometimes my oldest son did but not me. She's a house dog, she's good with the kids and all of that.

Well anyway I recently moved to a new neighborhood and it's like everybody walks their dogs here. In my old hood only pit bull owners walked their dogs. That's part of the reason I didn't walk mine. Not that pits aren't nice dogs it just I don't trust every pit owner.

But I'm not writing this to favor any breed of dog I have mixed breed. The point is that even if you only walk around the block if you do it consistently you will add miles of exercise to your life. In the long run that's going help make you and your pup happier and healthier.

I always tell people..... If you wanna lose weight, GET A DOG !!! My two Boston's BEG me to take them on their daily walk. Weather permitting, I walk them 2 x's... morning and evening.

Glad you found a doggy-friendly place to live!

I have been trying to walk my dog more as well.... and she is a pit bull... she is the sweetest dog except when she sees a squirrel or rabbit. lol.

Its a shame they get a bad wrap due to their owner. Its all on how the owner treats and raises the dog.

Hope in your new walks, that you meet some great people and dogs, pitts and non-pitts alike!

    Happy walking and sparking!
