Day 235: Duckweed and Crapola

Tuesday, August 23, 2011

Not necessarily in that order.

I spent half of today thinking it was the weekend. Dunno if I thought it was last weekend and I just haven't caught up yet, or if I'm jumping the gun to next weekend. Weird.

First, I meant to take a couple of pictures of the pool. Did I remember? Did I he!!. I'll look thru some on here and see if I have any, but I don't think I do. It's not completely cleared yet, but very nearly. Of course, any bits / spores left behind will cause it to come right back, and rather than let that happen for the sake of a pseudo-'before' picture, I think we'll work on getting rid of the last of it and I'll just do an 'after' picture. You can use your imaginations to fill in the green, lol...

Second, we're thinking about not putting the house back on till spring. In one way, I hate to wait, but in another, it might give the economy (and the housing market) a chance to rebound a little. I figure it can't hurt. It won't get worse. Ha ha.

Third, you East Coasters: wow, earthquake! Glad I wasn't there, but if you needed some excitement to your day, I bet that added it. The only one I was ever in (that I was aware of) was around '84, in central Maryland (dunno where that epicenter was). The house shook but mostly there was a loud boom, almost like an explosion. I doubt it was anything like 5.+ tho.

And I think that's it. I'm down to the wire - it's 10:58 GMT.

Goodnight, Sparklers, wherever you are!

The say that the earthquakes was along "Bush's Fault"! Just kidding. He gets blamed for everything else around here, might as well get blamed for that too! We were talking about England again last night. Coming back to visit in the near future. Not sure, when.

East coast of where? I heard we had earthquakes in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado this week - that's unusual!

Oops... just looked it up... how sheltered I am here in middle of nowhere! Earthquakes to the west of me, earthquakes to the right, here I am stuck in the middle... emoticon

I didn't feel anything SE of Cumberland, but my relatives closer to Baltimore said it was scary and the gov't evacuated their buildings. Traffic was a mess and phones were jammed.

Hope you were able to rest a little today, for once!

Thanks for the kind thoughts! It was a rocky time for about 30 seconds. Got my attention. Smart move to pull the house, so you don't have to worry about folks wandering through during the holidays. March is your month!
