so frustrated

Saturday, August 27, 2011

Can anyone suggest a food tracker that is not to hard to understand.....after trying for the last 3 hours to get my meal plan done for the day, I need to stop causing myself so much frustration and anger..which makes me want to give up on Sparkpeople...I can not use the new program, I have tried and tried and have done what they suggested but it doesn't work for me or my computer.....I don't want to give up tracking my food as I believe it is key to watching my weight.....
it seems it's time to move on to something more user friendly

have a healthy week end

I do know about the old version but heard it was only here for a while....but I will start using that so I don't cry each time I track my food.....lol

I track everything in a notebook. I find this the easiest and quickest way, and has brought me success.

You could try posting on the site/technical help message board to see if you can get any help. So sorry. I'm currently tracking my food manually using the exchange system and using quick track, but I've used the new tracker a few times to make sure I'm on track and didn't have any problems. What are the issues for you?

KITT, I am so sorry for your frustration. I did find it hard to use at first, I use the diabetic tracker. Now I like it. I do have so much food in my tracker and that helps.
I also find I make mistakes and they are so much easier to fix. I wish i could help you out, I am sure you will get it after a while. Check with the help desk to be sure the old one is not going to be phased out HUGS Pat in Maine. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

I am getting used to it too and it is easier once you get the hang of it. Don't give up. Check out some of the options above. Try Lainie's suggestion. Good luck, don't give up. emoticon

I did manage to use this one okay but even if you have to go back to an old fashioned pen and paper, I know you'll figure this out!

I don't care much for some of the changes they're making here. Have you tried using a different browser to see if that helps any? If you use Internet Explorer, try switching to Google Chrome. I find it works a lot better for most of the things I'm doing.

And, like a couple of other folks said, the old tracker is still there -- that's what I'm using when I track. If they take that away, they will certainly get an earful!

oh my word don't you dare give up on sparks or us emoticon

did you say you have a mac?? or did you not just get dell with windows7? the food tracker should be so easy for you with windows 7 ---I love it ..it is so much easier then the old version.. please step away for the day...

Did you not use their tracker before? if not then go through the tutorial it guides you step by step.. have your tracker up and the video up side by side so you can do it while it is explained to you..

wow wish I could be by your side to show you ... You would hit your head and go duh...lol

Second do you have groupings listed that you eat all the time?
do you have a lot of your favorites saved....this is a slow process but I have all mine done so it is like 1 click and it is charted...

It is important to chart your food and your exercise here then sparks tracks it all and tells you your deficit ect.. or if you need more food or workouts needed..
I know you know all this ... just thought if someone else reads this they can try my suggestion if they are having problems too..

hugs and if you want more help I am here...
    hugs many times my dear..

Sometimes a simple food diary/tracker from the bookstore is helpful. I utilize that from time-to-time and it comes in handy!

Kitt, you should still be able to use the old food tracker. On the right side just under the advertisement, it says +Add A Food (old popup version). You should be able to click on it to get the old version. Good luck!

    Have a great day!

    Hugs,

I have gotten used to it...but I think they do have things kind of odd. (put in a simple food like 'peach' and you get all these other things before you get to a peach. but I have gotten used to it. What are your specific questions. I will help if I can.

Did you know you can still use the old pop up version? I am sure you do, but just had to ask, just in case you didn't know.
