The best exercise is Rest...

I'm starting to find that sometimes the absolute, BEST thing you can do for yourself is REST! That's right, do absolutely nothing even close to exercise! When embarking on a weight loss journey, one often feels like EVERYDAY I should do cardio. Every other day I should strength train. Every third day I should swim or play basketball or do yoga....etc, etc, etc. Articles and blogs, and experts are always saying that when you want to lose weight-do SOMETHING!
But I'm here to tell you, that sometimes, maybe once a week or maybe once every two weeks-DO NOTHING but REST! Rest your body, rest your mind, rest your muscles, and REST your soul. Every body needs a break. On a rainy day like today and of course as Summer gives way to Fall, take a day, just one and relax. Still eat clean, but let your "exercise" be turning the pages of a good book. Or pressing the play button on your favorite movie. Or taking a long nap while the house is quiet.
This will do wonders for your body & mind. And the next day...After you've rested....do cardio, strength train, do yoga, play basketball, etc, etc, etc.
