And kicking...somewhat.

Truthfully, I just started getting burned out a little on this whole lifestyle change thing. So I did what everyone does when they get burned out...took a vacation. Not a complete vacation, I still watched what I ate and went to the gym once or twice a week just to avoid totally de-training, but I needed a little break. I was pushing way too hard. I had gone from totally sedentary and eating like crap to five months of gym nearly every day and counting every calorie. Something was going to have to give.

So I spent three weeks not trying to lose, just trying to maintain. I was pretty successful. I might have gone up 3 lbs. or so but I'm pretty sure that it's water weight, so hopefully it's not a true gain. Now I feel ready to get back to it and move on. As much as I haven't felt like going to the gym lately, I looked around when I was there on Sunday and saw people doing plyometrics, sit-ups, toddling along on the stair mill and I thought, "I enjoy being around people who are working out. One of my goals is still to look like I belong in a gym." I was glad to see that I did actually kind of miss the gym, all I had been lacking was the motivation to get off my butt and go.

And so today I return from "vacation," feeling relaxed (somewhat) and refreshed. Abs class tonight, plus either spin, zumba, or my leg workout. I've been seriously lacking in the cardio area, so it'll likely be one of the first two.

I'm with ya babe! Sometimes the journey is just... overwhelming. I know it's forever, but... sometimes I am just like "REALLY??" However, I am proud of both of us because not that long ago, we would have taken our "vacation" time to eat whatever we want, go back to our totally sedentary ways, and not done anything. At least we are still conscious about what we are doing and ready to get back to it and not be so strict on ourselves. Proud of you, hun! :) XO

In our Sexy Beast challenge, I proposed a mini challenge for the month of October to do 30 days of fitness to get me back in the habit. I NEED that. lol

Hope your week is awesome! XO

Glad to have you back! I have to say, I was excited to see an update to your blog in my email inbox this morning. :) I always love to hear from you! Your blogs are both insightful and hilarious and they're some of my favorites.

As for your "vacation," I've kind of done the same thing. I didn't totally de-rail, buuuuut it wasn't what I was at before. I think we all deserve a little "break" to keep from completely burning ourselves out, and now that that's over, it's time to kick it back into gear again. I'm just kind of hoping that, after maintaining for two/three weeks, the sudden ramp-up in my cardio will shock my body into a substantial loss. ;) Haha. "Oh, cardio? I forgot what this was like! *SHRINKS*"
