Day 255: Herman's Hermits
Monday, September 12, 2011
Remember Herman's Hermits? "Mrs Brown, You've Got a Lovely Daughter"? "I'm 'enery the Eighth, I Am"? There was a time I knew all five of their names. Oh, I could look it up, but it's late.
The song that's been in my head the last twenty minutes or so is "No Milk Today." That was one of HH's, tho I don't know if they originated it or not. As it happens, they weren't the first to sing about 'enery - some British comedian wrote it and had a comic hit with it long before they recorded it. I guess they were the first to have an international hit with it, tho.
But I digress.
For those of you who remember the song, substitute the lyrics "No Blog Tonight." 'cause there ain't, as I ran out of time. (And for those of you who don't know or don't remember the song, I bet YouTube has it somewhere, and I'd look it up but - it's late, lol.)
Goodnight, Sparklers, wherever you are!
