M2W WUB--Week 3

Friday, September 23, 2011

I can't believe its time for a WUB again...where the Sam Hill did this week go??

Strengths--ME!!! I'm getting to be one mighty mo-fo! :) My "stuff" is getting tighter and leaner by the day, my endurance had improved about 8,000,000%, and my energy levels are through the roof!! I haven't had a single nap all week (which is huge for me, as I am normally a big fan of hibernation). I'm finding myself performing "feats of strength" just because I can (like moving out the fridge to clean behind it, trying to carry in all of the grocery bags in one trip, flipping the couch over to shake out all of the "treasures" my kids like to lose in the cushions). :) Mighty, mighty, and lettin' it ALL hang out! :)

Weakness: Naughty snacks. I'm falling off of this wagon a bit...I've had a REALLY good week of eating my freggies (motivated by getting points for it this week...hint, hint Jamie) AND making sure I eat a little something for breakfast, but I'm also finding myself reaching for Klondike bars as a late night snack (stupid buy one get one free). I'm struggling a little to find balance on HIIT days when I need to carb is far easier and more delicious to eat junk food carbs as opposed to the "good" ones...I guess I'm just trying to make myself more mindful of what I'm choosing to use as fuel for the HIIT machine...

Goals for next week: Keep up the freggie intake. Stop being a Turbo Fire slacker. Mix my HIIT playlist (I've been meaning to do this all week). Keep up my momentum. Try not to have irrational tantrums over my frickin-fracken scale.

Which reminds me...I'm fairly sure my scale is garbage. I did a little experiment this morning wherein I weighed myself, then weighed myself again holding 6lbs. worth of weights, and the reading was the same. There is no way that I either lost or gained 6lbs. in 30 seconds. I need to suck it up and buy a new scale this week. Period. Does anyone have any suggestions about brand names or places to purchase? (I want the WiFi scale SP was advertising a couple of weeks ago, but I'm pretty sure the Hub would leave me if I spent $160 on a scale). Accepting all suggestions!!

Have a great Friday everyone!!

Like I said, You can be my super hero anytime. Such strengths!
Sounds like you are doing well on the weaknesses too, except the Klondike bars. (For me....Crisps were on sale at the supermarket yesterday...It took almost every ounce of strength I have to walk past them but I know if I hadn't they'd have ended up on my hips even though 'they were only for special occasions' - special occasions happen every night when temptation is in my cupboards!!!!) But great work on the freggies.
As for the scales - I have only relatively cheap ones which seem to work just fine. -Wish I could blame the plateau on the scales but I think alas no, it's just me :-) I don't think it matters if the overall weight is out by a few pounds but you do want it to register a DIFFERENCE, especially if you're putting on 6 pounds. Some of the electronic ones seem to need a few minutes gap before they register that this is someone else/ a different weight. Don't know if that was the problem????

Have a wonderful week this coming week.

Stop buying Klondike bars! LOL! If you have crap in the house, you WILL eat it. Fact! I keep M&M's in the house for when I bake brownies, and they have a zip top to the bag, and I can do this cos I'm not a chocoholic. But if my younger son knew they were there, it would be all over!

emoticon for "stuff" getting tighter and leaner! That's awesome! And great job on rocking the freggies this week!

Good luck with the scale shopping! I bought an expensive one that ended up being a piece of crap (go figure!) and then bought a cheap one that works great.

    You are awesome!!

I got my scale from with a coupon (do a search)
It is an Escali (sp?) It comes in several colors. I wanted one that just did weight and it was perfect. I spent less than $30 and it is accurate.

    Good luck scale shopping!

I know what you mean about the snacking at night thing...Fun size snickers were on sale the other I thought I'd buy them and put them away for Halloween...There's nothing fun about these snickers I must say...they've been calling my name every night (RRRR) I don't have any suggestions on the scale...mine is 10 years old. It measures weight and BMI...I've been trying to ignore the weight number and focus on BMI...although this week after my snicker attack I'll ignore both emoticon
