Strength Training & Toning~Why is it such a CHALLENGE for me?

I've been thinking about WHY I'm not doing Strength & Toning.

I understand that as I mature, it's very important to do S&T to help build muscle the aging process takes away!

I understand the more muscle you have, the more calories you burn(and I definitely need that benefit)

I understand a pound of fat takes up less space than a pound of fat(NO!!!! MUSCLE DOES NOT WEIGH LESS THAN FAT! A pound is a pound is a pound!)

I understand I wore smaller clothes (at this same weight) when I was doing S&T on a regular basis!

So, since I understand all of this, it's time to DO IT NOW!!!!!!!

    I hear you LOUD and CLEAR! I'm trying to incorporate little bits of that into my day. Like working thighs (doing plies) while brushing my teeth or leg raises to the side while doing dishes or holding my fanny up off the chair while on the porch smoking (I know, lose the ciggies). Anyway - maybe little bits won't seem so daunting and then before you know it your doing more! Let's protect our bones and muscles before we get old ok? We don't want to be limping and ouching into our golden years!!! Sound like Linda has thrown down the gauntlet!

    Sonjia I've been struggling since before summer over this same issue. I can do cardio til the cows come home, but S&T for me is like veggies is to little kids. Bleh! HOWEVER, after Saturday's shopping trip it is ON and I'm throwing down the white glove and challenging you to join me. 4-days a week of S&T. Let's go girlfriend!
