Hi:
I'm still down 14 lbs since February, but losing wt very slowly. I'm a leader in our church's "Celebrate Recovery" ministry to addicts and alcoholics, and introduce myself as being addicted to food, and a compulsive overeater. Looking at doing an "October Fast," with some other leaders. This involves a different focus for each week. First week to fast from dinner. Second week from breakfast and lunch (but not dinner?). Third week - fast from meat. Fourth week, try a juice and water fast. Also - during 2nd thru 4th weeks - fast from media - tv and computers, etc. Sounds like a stretch, but can help focus on people we're trying to reach thru CR, and could help jump start my serious weight loss. I've had my blood pressure checked twice in the last couple of weeks - 128 over 80, and 134 over 75. I gave blood yesterday, and they now share colesterol counts as a thank you for giving blood. Have a great week, and let's keep encouraging one another - blessings and love, Larry

Hi good to have you back! I'm a slow loser too ... I've been up and down but am still down 11 lbs. so am hoping I can use the food tracker until Christmas. I've been chanting to myself... skinny Christmas, skinny Christmas. So hopefully that will work. I find the nutrition tracker has improved since I last used it in 2010 so that helps and it really seems to work when I stick to it. Good luck with the fasts ... it sounds interesting. emoticon emoticon

I lose about a pound a month, so I'm with you all the way on this one. Beware of the holidays, though. Last year I regained 5 pounds in November and December. It took 5 months to get those back off. Never again!

I will be interested in how you do with a fast. I have always avoided them since I lack impulse control. Keep us posted! And GOOD LUCK!

Losing weight slowly is a good thing Larry! That way you don't usually put it back on! I hope your fast works for you! I think what you are doing is great! I think I am addicted to food like you! I am trying hard to cut calories as I have put on a little weight in the last month. I have changed my strength training to see if that makes a difference. Sounds like you are doing well with your blood pressure! Well done!
    Good luck! God Bless

Nice to see you back! Losing weight slowly is fine - you're still losing and you're learning habits that you will keep for the rest of your life.
