Just received my blood test results from my doctor
total blood serum cholesterol - 198 (desired total is below 200
good cholesterol (HDL) - 57 (desired level is 40 - 59)
Bad cholesterol (LDL) 117 - (desired is below 130)
I have to attribute the improvement to the support I receive from my team-mates that encourage me to get my fitness in and eat healthier.
The note from doctor did tell me to watch my sweet intake as sugar number is 6, which is considered pre-diabetic. According to my nurse practitioner anything over 6.5 is diabetic. So I really need to take this seriously and start monitoring my eating habits more closely. Just think that is only 5 points away from being diabetic.
October is approaching and I certainly will include this in my monthly goals.
Have you started monitoring what you want to include in your goals for October? Hopefully you all set goals as they are the path to progress and a great way to monitor progress.
I usually set one goal each in the areas of fitness, nutrtion, and motivation.
Fitness includes my walking and whatever other area my teams come up with for challenges. Since walking has become a way of life - thanks to spark. I will need to start addressing strength training.
Nutrtion will include cutting back my swetts.
Motivation is always checking in with my teams daily as this is where my support comes from and helps to keep my enthusiasm going strong.
I never could have made the progress I have made without every person on Spark - from Chris AKA SparkGuy, Coach Nancy, my co-leaders, and fellow team-mates.
