October Goals (and September recap) + Before/Current pics (99lbs down)

First, here's a before and current picture of me that just blows my mind. I still see the before sized girl when I look in the mirror, so this picture helps keep me focused:




Ok-now on to the topic of this blog. A great SparkFriend of mine inspired me to set some monthly goals and post them in a blog each month to hold myself accountable. Great idea, isn’t it?

So, September recap…

I had a goal to be able to do 5 man pushups (on my toes) in a row, without stopping. I can now do 15!

I wanted to lose 10 lbs in September. I hit a plateau and only lost 8, but I learned a lot along the way, so I’m calling it a wash.

I wanted to get 7.5 hours of sleep every night. I’d say I did that 95% of the time.

I wanted to try Yoga/Pilates. It’s now one of my not miss classes! emoticon

I wanted to do 60 minutes of strength training 3 days a week and 60 minutes of cardio 3 days a week. I mostly accomplished this. Sometimes I shortened the strength training to 50 minutes. I’m cutting myself some slack on that. LOL

I wanted to walk my first 5k in 60 minutes or less. On September 24th, I finished my first 5K in 55 minutes, and it felt spectacular! I raced people who had no idea they were racing, and I kicked their asses!

Alright, always looking forward, so on to October:

In October, my goals are:

Lose 10 lbs by 10/31/2011

Try 2 new healthy foods (Hummus will be one. Suggestions for the other one?)

Continue 60 minutes cardio 3 days a week and 60 minutes strength training 3 days a week

Be able to do 20 man pushups in a row without stopping

I want to be able to jog a 10 minutes of a 15 minute mile by Halloween. I can jog 6 minutes at that pace now, so I’ll increase that by 30 seconds each cardio day until I can do the whole 15. (Who knew jogging was actually fun? Not this girl!)

Get 7.5 hours of sleep every night

Try Kettle bells. (First class for that is scheduled for 10/4.)

Eat 1700-1850 calories each day, and eat every 3.5 hours unless I’m sleeping. Believe it or not, I’ve been having to push myself to hit that calorie goal, which is crazy, since I used to be able to eat that in one sitting. But, not eating enough is sabotaging my weight loss plan, and is pissing me off. So, eat 1700-1850 calories a day I will.

    Thank u everyone! I can check one goal off the list today: I ran a 15 minute mile today. Just decided to see if I could, and before I knew it, I'd done it. Terrific feeling!!

    Awesome goals. I don't doubt you'll meet them. Glad you're trying hummus. I love it. It's good on wheat crackers, or as a dip fr veggies. I especially like seedless cucumbers or red/yellow/orange bell peppers with it. It also makes a great spread on sandwiches, or if it's the roasted red pepper kind, it's good on wheat bread alone.
