Sorry, no time to comment, I have to do some work now, but if you follow the link you'll find food for thought.

Actually I have to admit that I think it is important for the president of the United States to be fit. After hearing how frail Roosevelt and Kennedy were when in the position I found it scary. The same when it was learned that Reagan had early symptoms of dementia. Some positions require good health like being a surgeon. I don't want someone operating on my brain who has Alzheimers. Obesity is a real problem. It shortens peoples lives and puts them at increased risk for debilitating disease. There is no getting around that it is a bad thing and needs to be addressed and we are doing that.

Remember when being heavy was a sign of wealth? Back in the time when if you can afford to eat you were wealthy? Also there was time when being heavy meant you could provide for your family (hunters-gatherers). Now days starvation is seen as sexy. Humans just need to be happy with who they are and find a balance just like every other creature. The stigma is artificial just like plastic. Useless when empty but still a burden on the environment we live in. And like plastic takes a long time to dissolve.

It's tacky in the extreme in my opinion for people to comment on his obesity in regards to running for President, but that's what a lot of the Democrats do. Find something personally wrong with a candidate of the other "side" and attack. Sad. He should be judged on merit, not size.

I think people should be sat on the school bench and told facts like dietitians.. People need more education- home economics is a out of date school subject and is not hitting it anymore..
Just look outside your door- is this school subject gearing people up to make better decisions? It is teaching parents to make time at home in their kitchens and teach their kids decent habits..
Gastic bypass is not the solution- education is the only solution.. Obesity is a problem we have self made placing importance on the wrong things..
If I walked into a school class room tomorrow and asked them what has to be on their plate- they don't have a clue I would get alot of giggling and alot of smart remarks about what they like.. But a classroom break down of the micronutrition nope! They have not been taught this anywhere because parents are struggling with it themselfs..
I paid for this info- not many people like me have lost half their body weight the normal way knowing all the whats, whys and why nots rules..
This stigma is society self made through bad planning at school level...
