Garden-Thanksgiving and Turkey!

Wednesday, October 05, 2011

This was the vegetable garden last May----
Here it is to-day----
Yesterday, husband and I lugged load after load of compost , to it and spread it over , this veggie garden and a few flower beds--lotza work!
It was about 73C, and sunny here yesterday--- and this is October---
As I was throwing the compost, I saw a couple of robins , still here --

This the back road--looks so pretty with the colours--

--- looking over the lake--
beautiful time of year-----This coming weekend is the Canadian Thanksgiving----Son#2 the pilot will be here with his daughter---and son#1 , plus son #3 , and son #4 will all be here for a big turkey dinner--
Anyway-----the Dreadmill is calling me--- the washing is in (before 7am I might say , to please the Power company--Ha Ha)--
Hope I can eat healthy to-day-5-7 vegetables------Lord Love a Duck!--
Enjoy the day y'all!

    Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

What a beautiful garden you had! **SIGH** Took mine out yesterday, too. It was 68 degrees here! What's up with that one . . . you were warmer than we were!

Have a great Thanksgiving. Glad you pleased the energy gods by doing your laundry within the allotted time. **SIGH**

I did know that Canada celebrated their Thanksgiving in October. Do enjoy the Holiday. How nice that your son and family will be joining you. That is what the holidays are all about - family.

The garden looks great. We still have Okra in the garden and lots of green tomatoes. I may have to make some Green Tomato Preserves. I never have made them but hate to waste the tomatoes and I am not much into Fried Green Tomatoes.

Take care and have a lovely day.

Now do they really say YA'LL in Canada??? Inquiring minds need to know Ha Ha!!! If I do forget, Happy Thanksgiving!!! I love learning something new, and I never knew that Canadians celebrated Thanksgiving so early, but it is cool!!!! I would like it better here if we did celebrate it early, that way, we would have the chance to lose the weight that we normally gain, BEFORE the season of Christmas started!!! LOL!! Oh well, this year I AM NOT GOING TO GAIN ANY WEIGHT during the Holiday season, so it does not matter anyway!!! In fact, we are going to with other Church family members provide a meal for the community around where our Church is located and serve them instead of ourselves this year, and we are going to do it, right on Thanksgiving Day. So that will keep the focus on something or someone else this year, and I DON'T HAVE TO COOK!!!!! The food is going to be kept very simple, so there will not be anything that tempting, thank goodness!!!

I wish you and your family a wonderful and Blessed Holiday!!!! Shannon
