Today I found some thing new about me.....I use to gain weight the day after I had over ate or had high sodium foods....I knew if I had to much food or high sodium food the scale would show it the next morning...but now it seems to take 2 days to show up on the scale...does this happen to anyone else..also it seems to takes more days to get rid of the extra weight....not sure if that makes sense to anyone it getting older or having lost a lot of weight that makes it harder to get rid of...

well not much to report, my emotions have been on a roller coaster and I'm feeling great one minute then down the next...maybe it's hormones, maybe its the shorter days, and they are getting shorter each day....any way I don't have much to say so lets keep trying our each other and hope we get over the rough spots....

Have a healthy Tuesday

I was feeling pretty good, because after a kinda BAD weekend (I went to a volleyball game and ate popcorn--been a long time since I ate regular popcorn), I didn't gain any weight---until today! It always shows up eventually, you can't fool your body forever. I was good Mon. and Tue. and even walked some extra miles. That should show up by the weekend. At least I hope so. I have been comfortable, weighing in at under 145, but this morning--145.6! So hopefully my work of the last two days and the work I will do in the next days will reflect on the scale soon. Because an upward moving scale is very depressing!

I guess I am surprised at the fact that after a bad day or two, I seem to be able to be good again without much effort. At one time I was afraid that one lapse and it would all be over. I would slip into mindless eating and no exercise and gain all my weight back. Hopefully that will not be the case, as I would like to have an occasional treat on this journey we call getting healthy for life!

Hi Kitt, Pat in Maine. We are so much farther North than where i was raised the long hours of darkness really get to me. I have been at the same weight now for a year. My birthday gift to me was to be in the overweight category but I have not been able to get there despite eating almost every day in my calorie range set up lower by me than by Spark. Walking in the am really helps my mood but walking in the evening affects my blood sugar. Doing than much walking causes back pain. So I just keep on trucking and take it day by day. Sparking helps me to keep relatively up there towards a good mood. When lots of people read my blog I feel connected. HUGS Pat in Maine. emoticon emoticon emoticon

I hate the shorter days. This is not my favorite time of year.

Yes I've noticed that about me too Kitt. I'm sure it's got alot to do with our age, metabolism slowing down.

The shorter days are kind of bumming me out, plus it's pretty busy at work at the moment so I'm not around as much as usual. Sure hate the change of seasons this time of year -- liking the cooler temps but wish we still had the longer days.

The shorter days are hard for me. Once it starts to get dark, which is now about 5:30 or 6:00, my body just sort of shuts down and I am ready to go to bed.
I have got to get on the ball, get over my 'blues', forget those who contribute to those 'blues' and start putting me first.

Mine can show up the next day, and it takes longer to lose. They say to drink lots of water to flush it out, but it only makes me bloat more.

I am having a rough time as well. Makes me just want to stay away till it passes, but that isn't the answer, is it?

    Hang in there! Hugs!

Kitt -this happens to me ..takes a least 2 days to show a gain or 2 days to show a loss...maybe because of our age and our metabolism is slower then when we were young...

I think it is the shorter days that are making you blue.. is the weather rainy too?? this effects me for sure... Just think about your trip with hubby soon ..keep the spirits high .
Think of all the good you have done for others here and how far you have come!! be proud!

    hugs Jo
