My first Half Marathon

Thursday, October 20, 2011

Good evening SP,

So a few days ago I signed up to do my first half marathon next May. The one that I signed up for was Divas Half Marathon in SC on May 20, 2012. I'm so afraid and excited at the same time. I was told that I you want to reach a goal and see if you have it in you to run sign up for a Marathon that you have to train for and that is what I did. So here I go there is no turning back as the fee is non-refundable. emoticon

I can do this and I plan not to give up on myself as this is so important to me!

Yes, you can do this!!! I remember the first time that I did a 5k for breast cancer. At the time I was taking chemo and I made it to the finish line. Remember: the race is not given to the swift or the strong, but to him that endures until the end. You are already a winner...Be blessed

Thanks all for the comments on this blog. I have a wonder group of women that I run/walk with three times a week so the training should go pretty well. I hope!!! I will take it slow but I know I will be able to do this by May 2012.

This is great!! I'm not a runner. I did a 5k once and I ran walked. It took me 45 minutes but I did it!!! Crossing that finish line is awesome.

    Good luck to you.

Hi. Training is the key - several years ago I walked a marathon and it took me almost 8 hrs., but crossing the line was a monent I'll never forget. I started training/cross-training about 6 months before the event and I trained religiously with a team (we were wonderful support for each other). YOU CAN DO IT!!!
