What did I learn

Today I did great for lunch.. I did great for breakfast...healthy, on the menu things that were manageable to fix and eat and left me full and feeling good. Then I went out on a date with my spousal unit.... To Olive garden. I thought about ordering a meal that had the magic olive bough to signal it's low fat qualities. Then the server announced the special...rigatoni with chicken and Alfredo sauce. Cheaper, more tempting, and I think tomatoes make me stiff...and it has grilled chicken!-- thatnsounds healthy (haha). So guess what I ordered. Some 1400 plus calories later, I'm stuffed, my mouth coated with fat, and I have indigestion. And that's hours after the meal. Initially I set aside half and then ate it on the way home... Next time I will allow myself to plan better and stick with the plan. That was not as pleasant as it would
need to be to make it worth it. I don't yet have the self control muscles to manage large quantities of food that is tempting being placed in front of me. I still consider price when
ordering ( the rigatoni was a deal). And I eat more than is reasonable because I'm feeling
somewhat resistant about this mission I'm on.

Next time: plan ahead. Have someone else order after you arrive. Put half away at the beginning of the meal and have someone else carry it ( at least for now), and probably eat it the next day if it is calorie/ fat laden....

Now, I'll move on. Didn't eat a pound of calories today, so I'll exercise and eat right
tomorrow and get on with this adventure. A learning experience anyway ......

    See, that's the perfect attitude: it's okay for me to make a mistake as long as I learn from it. Now you're better equipped for next time! (And isn't it funny how after we've been eating healthy for a bit that a less healthy meal no longer tastes as good as it once did? That was a really sad thing I learned -- but good, because now I'm less tempted!)
