This afternoon my husband I worked together.. It was nice we laughed took pictures and made a little home video.. We assembled 59 hogies with three meats, cheese, lettuce and tomatoes. Subs are one thing I rarely eat because of all the bread and not to mention cost. (the subs where for Christ cafe - not for us)
We do more food at home rather than going out or fast foods. Guess that is the benefit of being a farm girl. It is hard work but the joy of knowing, you can control salt and other fats is a reward. My weakness isn't the meals it's the baking. Cookies, pies, cakes, sweet breads, baked breads all the good stuff that isn't so good for a person trying to make a weight and lifestyle change.
There isn't much I can't bake - well okay souffles.. not my cup of tea. emoticon
This is the hard time of year for me.. wait who am I kidding.. anytime of the year I battle sugar addiction. My husband doesn't want artificial sweetners even though I've told him about splenda and truvia - no luck.
does anyone else love to bake and can't get their significant other to go to a sugar substitute?

Awesome that you and your husband do things together, such as the Hogies. That's cool. As for artificial sweeteners have you tried stevia? It's natural and not artifical, it has a strong sweet taste in drinks and food. It's quite bitter if you taste it on its own. It can be found in health food stores.

I do eat baked apples with cinnamon, raw apples, oranges when we can get em and grapes. but 28 pieces of fruit may get a bit expensive if we had to buy them - so I'm glad you said canned fruit counts.. I have applesauce, pears and some fruit that we canned last summer.. Do bannana's count as a fruit??

Good for you! all those Hogies for Christ. emoticon
My favorite TV dietitian swears "If you eat 4 (or more) fruits a day, the sugar craving will go away" Zonya PBS. It is not that hard one fruit with each meal or snack and my desire for chocolate, sweets, candy is just tiny emoticon now.

Of course, for the week you have to buy 4 X 7 or 28 pieces of fruit per person....I do include canned fruit!! Joyce emoticon Rejoice in Jesus
