Friday and Feeling Fine! 10/28/2011
Friday, October 28, 2011
It's Friday and my backache is almost gone. I feel a little twinge when I move a certain way but I'm able to move better today. Yesterday my husband went to Dunkin' Donuts after work and they gave him 3 extra donuts for free. I had a chocolate iced bismark, but being on Weight Watchers I counted it in my daily Points. I normally wouldn't have counted it. It was 11 POINTS! Being as large a woman as I am, I get a lot of daily Points. If I had, say 29 daily Points, I would not have eaten the donut. I don't know why he brought them home. But I handled it well.
It's getting colder here and my husband wants to go for a walk in the neighborhood when it's nice. I need to get a heavier jacket. Right now I have only lightweight denim jackets and I don't have any long sleeve tops. I tend to overheat at work so I wear short sleeves all year round. Too bad the weather is so gloomy right now. I WANT SUNSHINE!!!!
I am happy I have rededicated myself to losing this weight. I am making a conscious effort. Most of the time I eat mindlessly. Now I check the points value of something before I eat. I have a zillion low-fat cookbooks and we are going to try some new recipes. My 16 year old daughter Liv has gone vegetarian, so I will try to make more meatless meals. If I want meat, we can have it on the side. I borrowed a book from the library, Taste of Home Guilt Free. Liv browsed through it yesterday and has already picked out 2 recipes for us to try. She has been on a refried beans kick recently and she found a Refried Bean Enchiladas recipe. The picture looked good enough to eat. Maybe we'll try it on Sunday since she is spending the night at a friend's on Saturday for their yearly tradition of seeing Rocky Horror Picture Show.
I never have to worry about having Halloween candy in the house. I don't buy any! In 25 years I have never had one single trick-or-treater ring the doorbell. I guess they don't like going into apartment buildings. That's okay with me. If I bought any, I'd eat it.
