So, I said I'd pay attention to diet and exercise for 30 days. 30 days has come and gone-- I must be a day or two over, but close. I have not always been changing my intake or output, but I have been noticing. Paying attention. This week I am planning dinners ahead, and have made healthy and delicious fall meals that I have been very happy with. I am on the right track. I am trying to park in the distant parking that doesn't require me to move my car every 2 hours on work days, trying to move just a little more. Haven't done it every day, but some, little by little, I'm moving in the right direction. In spite of Halloween, I have lost a couple of pounds and am developing better habits, and getting in a better space about this call to be healthier. I'll keep on. The tracking could be better for me, but I'd rather spend my time cooking up meals that are truly satisfying and healthy and slack on the tracking. I've gotten really consistent about making great recipe changes -- less fat, less sugar and still the recipes I like or new ones that are fun to discover. I am using my interest in cooking to my advantage. It's bound to pay off for my whole family. On that note, no guarantees to blog, to track or to record, but I'll keep on with the plan and report back from time to time. I will work with this in ways that work for me. My current commitment to myself is to continue to pay attention, continue to improve in how I take care of myself... day by day, week by week... I'll see how I do with that for the next month and go from there.

    That's great! From the beginning, I've said that I need to do this in a way that's true to me, so that I can keep doing it years from now when I've lost the weight. It sounds like that's what you're doing too -- being true to yourself and making lifestyle changes that are sustainable.
