Holidays & Real Life

Well, since everyone is blogging about the holidays or actually holiday "food", I decided to add my 2 cents. My reality is this. Weight loss, healthy eating, exercising-yes all of that has to be a lifestyle. That being said, holidays, birthdays, bad weather days are also part of life. I would not have even started on this journey if it REALLY meant I could never have Cold Stone Creamery or Leona's again. Ever! Red Velvet Cake & Sweet Potato Pie & Caribou Ice Cream-Banned for life (which for me includes at least another 50 years!!); shoot me now!

That's unrealistic & for all of those (us) folk out there who have been trying to live by that mantra-STOP. Holidays, birthdays, etc...come but once a year. Don't torture yourself nor your loved ones. Have that pecan pie, turkey & dressing, mac n cheese, egg nog..but first-hit the gym or if your away for the holidays-go outside & walk better yet RUN because all that food is EXTRA fattening but you don't eat like that all year.

So go ahead & endulge, but the other reality is this... since we've started on this journey we've prepared ourselves to make better choices even if that only means 1 serving of everything or TAKE NO LEFTOVERS HOME. But by all means, enjoy & be a joy & remember to RUN!!! emoticon

    Enjoy your Thanksgiving with you and yours as well. I think I will take that tip and workout early in the morning.

    Ditto! Enjoy the food and family but just don't over do it where you'll need to go up a dress size the next day! lol
