oh no....I have not recovered

I have got to get it together. The scales are showing a 5 pound gain and that is probably about right, as I have been eating sooooo badly. I really need to get back on track and I feel like I have not learned anything in almost two years. Thanksgiving, today was a birthday party and now the CHristmas season.
I bought a new pedometer and it isn't working (maybe I operater error.I must read up on it sme more).
I don't want to continue this.. why do I feel so helpless?
8 fruits and veggies daily
low fat dairy/almond milk
exercise 5 days a week
limit treats to the parties only..and then only in calorie range.
And lots and lots of prayer. I can't do this alone.
