I chose a healthy lunch that I really enjoyed ~ being happy with the choices is key to making this month's healthy decisions successful. My choices need to be ones that I truly like, not just something I am doing on a temporary basis. When I choose something because it's the right thing to do, inside I'm annoyed and mad that I couldn't have what I wanted.

I loved my sandwich of multigrain bread, tomatoes, dijonnaise and thin sliced deli turkey. Instead of Pepsi I had lemon-lime seltzer that I love just the same.

    This is what i am doing these days. I do my best to avoid the craving for as long as possible, but i do give in. when i do, depending on what the craving is for, i share with DH. Since I love some junk foods, i don't keep them in the house. therefore, i have to travel somewhere (grocery, restaurant, coffee shop, ice cream shop, etc) to get it and i have time to think about how much i am going to eat and plan for it. sounds convoluted, but it is working for me.

    Yesterday, for instance, I really wanted something chocolate. Yes, I was proud of myself for having my celery and carrot sticks on hand, that I ate instead, but after about a half an hour, with the craving still full strength for chocolate, I thought of my sugar free International coffee in the breakroom cupboard, and had a cup of THAT, which I thoroughly enjoyed, used up only 30 calories, and ended my chocolate urge!
